Typhoon Ida rips off piece of rooftop at Lady of the Sea clinic after Louisiana landfall

A rampaging Hurricane Ida ripped off a piece of the rooftop from the Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Galliano, Louisiana, on Sunday.

Specialists said they had no quick reports of wounds. Video presented on Twitter showed an enormous part of the rooftop stripping off and destroying as Ida's breezes whipped through Galliano, around 30 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico and Port Fourchon, where Ida made landfall as an amazing Category 4 storm.

Specialists said the typhoon's breezes are pretty much as solid as a twister nearby, and cautioned of further "disastrous" wind harm and flooding as the tempest moves inland toward more populated regions.

Lafourche Parish Emergency Preparedness Director Chris Boudreaux told the USA TODAY Network that "a couple" patients and staff were inside at that point. Medical clinic chairmen told neighborhood media that patients had been moved to bring down levels of the structure before the harm happened.
